As Principal of the TUSD Alternative Education Campus, home to Stein High School, Duncan Russell Community Day School, Tracy Young Adult Program, Independent Study (9th-12th grades) and Home Hospital, I could not be more proud of being a part of this unique education setting.

February is Black History Month and many of our teachers have learning activities lined up throughout the month. We will update this post often to include pictures of the various activities and projects students are involved in.

Tracy High: Classes have a door decorating contest with the theme of "First Black Woman". They will also be reading inspirational quotes during student announcements. View Pictures HERE
Monte Vista: Ms. Williams' 6th graders are presenting their "Inspirational Person Projects". View Pictures HERE
Central School: Miss Faye dresses up as various historic figures. Pictures Coming Soon!
Williams Middle School: Students are exploring language arts focused on poetry by Langston Hughes, Maya Angelou, Amanda Gorman and more! Students also write about a given quotation of Martine Luther King. Others are doing a biography project and poster and will present it.
Stein High: Many classes are doing cross-curricular projects to put up in their hallway which includes posters, cloth artworks and information on black authors. Pictures Coming Soon!
Beginning this school year, Stein students have the opportunity to participate in a College and Career Ready Lab experience as an alternate way to earn English 4 credit.
Students will engage in project based learning experiences while gaining exposure to a variety of career clusters such as Culinary Arts, Fashion Design and Marketing, Computer Graphics and Game Development, Personal Finance, and Child Development.

Tracy Adult School is offering hands on, real-world, occupationally relevant experiences in automotive technology.
Job opportunities can include: automotive service technician, maintenance worker, specialty vehicle shop employee, and more.
Project based learning classroom and shop time.
